Mariana Poole is a teacher, performer, arranger, and amateur composer. She received a BA in Music Performance, specializing in percussion, from Elon University in 2010, as well as a BA in Biology. She completed a Master of Music at UNCSA in 2012. Mariana is currently in her sixth year of teaching at Elon University, where she directs the percussion ensemble, teaches The Fundamentals of Music, and gives individual percussion lessons. She also teaches a private studio of beginner and intermediate students based in Swepsonville, NC, and works with organizations including the Center for Human-Earth Restoration and Prairie Ridge Ecostation to create outdoor music activities for elementary and middle school children.
